Can believers lose their salvation?

This is a question that has caused much heartache to many over the years. Indeed it is a question that has been, and continues to be, hotly debated in Church circles. So can we know the answer?

Dr. Lloyd-Jones believes that the Bible is clear in its teaching. He begins by looking at the “warning passages” in the letter to the Hebrews and explains the threefold purpose of these passages. He then asks “what is the purpose of salvation?” and shows how this apparently simple question is answered incorrectly by so many. Because many go wrong here, he explains, they misunderstand the Bible’s teaching concerning the security of believers which results in them, in effect, relying on their own efforts to hold on to salvation.

This is a very helpful, and most encouraging series of 5 messages that explain why the believer can know that all who are truly saved will never fall away. Dr. Lloyd-Jones examines all the popular objections to this teaching and establishes clearly that the Bible does indeed teach the doctrine of the Final Perseverance of the Saints or, as it is more popularly referred to, “the once saved, always saved” doctrine. A very helpful and in-depth study of this most important subject that will bring peace to many.
